My parents were my heroes. They were both pillars of strength and resilience in my life by always providing support and guidance to myself and my siblings and others for years. Both of my parents battled this ruthless disease. I remained in denial of any discussion as it relates to recognizing or educating anyone about this disease and the importance of screenings. I'm driven by the memory of my parents and all that they did in the community with the love and compassion they shared for others.
